What to Expect
Gentle Arrival
Dr. Danielle comes to your home, takes time to greet your pet, and explains each step so you know what to expect. You will have plenty of time to say your goodbyes.
Peaceful Goodbye
A calming sedative is given first, allowing your pet to gently fall deeply asleep while you hold or comfort them. Dr Danielle will assess the sedation, and once your pet is fully relaxed and unaware, a final injection is administered. This is quick, painless, and ensures your pet passes peacefully and with dignity, surrounded by love in the comfort of home.
Aftercare & Cremation Support
You may choose to keep your pet at home or have Dr. Danielle arrange respectful cremation services, in which case transportation will arranged. Loving guidance and grief resources are available if you wish.
If you have questions or concerns before scheduling, you’re welcome to contact us — we’re here to listen and help.
As difficult as this was, we had so much care and attention from Dr. Danielle. She was patient, kind, gentle, she answered our questions, and truly respected our beloved dog (in the short time she knew him) while he was living and after he passed. It was a tough visit but Dr. Danielle made it somehow bearable.

Being able to have Dr.Chapman come to our home for Kona was the best decision. Kona was very sick and taking her to the vet office would have just added more stress. As a family we were able to all be present for her passing in peace and comfort.

What happens during the appointment?
The visit begins with time to talk, answer questions, and make sure you feel ready. When the moment is right, Dr. Danielle gives a gentle sedative so your pet drifts into a peaceful sleep. Once you’re comfortable, the final medication is administered with you by your pet’s side.
A more extensive explanation is given on the In-Home Euthanasia page.
How quickly can an appointment be scheduled?
Same-day and next-day visits are often available, depending on the schedule and location. If you need urgent support, please reach out and we’ll do our best to be there for you.
What if I’m not sure it’s the right time?
It’s normal to feel uncertain. Dr. Danielle can talk with you about your pet’s condition and quality of life. Together, you can decide what feels most compassionate for your companion.
What is in-home pet euthanasia?
In-home euthanasia means your dog or cat can pass peacefully in the comfort of home. Instead of facing the stress of a clinic visit, Dr. Danielle comes to you, creating a calm, loving environment where your companion can remain surrounded by family.
What if my pet passes away naturally before the appointment?
Please call or text Dr. Danielle if this happens. She can assist with aftercare arrangements or answer any questions you have.
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes. You can reschedule or cancel anytime using the link in your confirmation email. Please note: rescheduling or cancellationing with less than 4 hours' notice will forfeit $50. We appreciate as much notice as possible so we can assist other families in need.
Can my pet be euthanized while lying in my lap?
Yes. Many families choose to hold or be close to their pet throughout the procedure.
Is sedation always given before euthanasia?
Yes. Every pet receives gentle sedation first, ensuring they are completely relaxed and asleep before the final injection.
How long will the procedure take?
Most appointments last about 30–45 minutes, but there’s no strict time limit. Dr. Danielle will move at your and your pet’s pace. The sedation takes a few minutes to take full effect, and the final injection is administered only when your pet is fully relaxed and asleep.
Will Dr. Danielle take my pet with her after the appointment?
Yes, if you’ve chosen cremation as your aftercare option, Dr. Danielle will gently transport your pet to a trusted local crematorium. She will confirm your selection during the appointment and ensure everything is handled respectfully. If you’ve selected private cremation, she will also explain how and when your pet’s ashes will be returned to you.
