Can you come to my area outside of Austin?
Dr. Danielle serves the greater Austin metro and many surrounding communities. You can check instantly by entering your address on our Scheduling page, or view our Service Area map. Travel fees may apply for longer distances, and we’ll always let you know in advance.
What happens during the appointment?
The visit begins with time to talk, answer questions, and make sure you feel ready. When the moment is right, Dr. Danielle gives a gentle sedative so your pet drifts into a peaceful sleep. Once you’re comfortable, the final medication is administered with you by your pet’s side.
A more extensive explanation is given on the In-Home Euthanasia page.
How quickly can an appointment be scheduled?
Same-day and next-day visits are often available, depending on the schedule and location. If you need urgent support, please reach out and we’ll do our best to be there for you.
What if I’m not sure it’s the right time?
It’s normal to feel uncertain. Dr. Danielle can talk with you about your pet’s condition and quality of life. Together, you can decide what feels most compassionate for your companion.
What is in-home pet euthanasia?
In-home euthanasia means your dog or cat can pass peacefully in the comfort of home. Instead of facing the stress of a clinic visit, Dr. Danielle comes to you, creating a calm, loving environment where your companion can remain surrounded by family.
What if my pet passes away naturally before the appointment?
Please call or text Dr. Danielle if this happens. She can assist with aftercare arrangements or answer any questions you have.
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes. You can reschedule or cancel anytime using the link in your confirmation email. Please note: rescheduling or cancellationing with less than 4 hours' notice will forfeit $50. We appreciate as much notice as possible so we can assist other families in need.
Can my pet be euthanized while lying in my lap?
Yes. Many families choose to hold or be close to their pet throughout the procedure.
Is sedation always given before euthanasia?
Yes. Every pet receives gentle sedation first, ensuring they are completely relaxed and asleep before the final injection.
How long will the procedure take?
Most appointments last about 30–45 minutes, but there’s no strict time limit. Dr. Danielle will move at your and your pet’s pace. The sedation takes a few minutes to take full effect, and the final injection is administered only when your pet is fully relaxed and asleep.
Will Dr. Danielle take my pet with her after the appointment?
Yes, if you’ve chosen cremation as your aftercare option, Dr. Danielle will gently transport your pet to a trusted local crematorium. She will confirm your selection during the appointment and ensure everything is handled respectfully. If you’ve selected private cremation, she will also explain how and when your pet’s ashes will be returned to you.
